Remington American Legion Post 247

American Legion Post 247 was formed in 1948 in Remington, Virginia.
Most members were Veterans of World War II representing members of all Military Services, since then Veterans of all Military Services have continued to join Post 247 and support the community surrounding Remington. The Post is currently represented by Veterans spanning from World War II, throughout the Cold War, to Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Post 247 is very active in the community throughout southern Fauquier County; supporting American Legion Baseball, American Legion Boys and Girls State, American Legion sponsored educational activities at local High Schools, Junior ROTC, and other community events.

Post 247 provides support to needy Veterans in the area, local as well as national organizations. The Post has provided scholarships to local students attending colleges.
