Walk the Battlefield

Rappahannock Station is today known as Remington and lies about halfway between Warrenton and Culpeper. This small town covers much of the battlefield making a visit difficult. Please respect the rights of property owners. To reach the battlefield from Fredericksburg, take Rt. 3 west to Culpeper, then take Rt. 15/29 north from Culpeper toward Warrenton. Approximately 7 miles north of Culpeper you will see a sign directing you to Remington via Business Rt. 15/29. Pull off the road at this point. Read the walking tour of the Battle of Remington.

Civil War Bicycling Tours

Pedal through history on one of Remington’s bicycle trails and see why the small town is on the crossroads of history. Trails marked for three-, six- and 12-mile rides take visitors through the beautiful Virginia countryside surrounding Remington. Annual Spring Yard Sale

The Town comes alive in May every year with their Annual Spring Yard Sale.  Drop by the Remington United Methodist Church or the Town lot at 105 East Main Street. Maps available of local home participants. It’s a fun time for all.

Remington Fall Festival

Evey year on the second Saturday of  October, the streets of Remington fill with vendors, music, and food during the annual Fall Festival. For vendor information, contact the fall festival committee at Get updates on the event through their facebook page at

Movie on the Lawn

The Town of Remington shows a free movie on the lawn at the Community Gardens on West Bowen Street on the third Saturday of the month from April-September. The movie will start at dusk. In case of rain, the movie will move indoors to the fellowship hall of the Remington United Methodist Church. Keep posted of the happenings and extra entertainment for movie night on the Town's facebook page. 

National Night Out
The Remington Police Department hosts National Night Out on the second Tuesday in August. This is a national event held by local law enforcement, first responders and rescue personnel to bring awareness to communities and to encourage people to get out and meet their new neighbors and those who protect them. This is a free event filled with food, games and door prizes.  Come enjoy the evening on the Town Hall lawn at 105 East Main Street.
