FAQ
What are Town Hall and DMV Select hours?
Town Hall (including the Remington DMV Select office) is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. We're closed on federal holidays. Walk-ins are welcome, but DMV appointments are recommended for faster service.
Will Town Hall or the Remington DMV Select be open during inclement weather?
We follow Fauquier County Government guidelines for closings or delayed openings (not Fauquier County Public Schools). Check the county website, local news, or call Town Hall at 540-439-3220 for the latest status. If weather cancels your DMV appointment, we'll email you a notice. You can reschedule online via the Virginia DMV appointment system or use the night drop box on the side of Town Hall for paperwork.
How do I pay my water bill, trash service, or citation?
In person: Cash, check, or money order accepted at Town Hall during office hours.
Online or by phone: Use the Official Payments system (quick link at the top of the home page under Residents, or call 1-800-487-4567). Bills and citations aren't viewable online—contact Town Hall at 540-439-3220 or email info@remington-va.gov for your balance or assistance. Trash service is included with in-town water bills.
Do I need a town decal or sticker for my vehicle?
No town vehicle decal is currently required for residents. If this changes or for parking-related questions in town limits, check with Town Hall.
How can I contact Town Hall for general questions?
Call 540-439-3220, email info@remington-va.gov, or stop by 105 East Main Street during hours. Staff can help with water bills, permits, records, event info, or direct you to the right department.
What services does the Remington DMV Select office handle?
This is a Select office for vehicle titles, registrations, plates, permits, handicapped placards, voter registration applications, address changes (no DL/ID), transcripts, EZ Pass issuance, and more. We cannot process driver's licenses, ID cards, testing, reinstatements, vital records, boat titles, salvage/rebuilt titles, or dealership/online Virginia titles. For full list, see the DMV Select page or VirginiaDMV.gov.
Where do I take recycling or trash questions?
Trash pickup (included with in-town water) is Fridays (except holidays/weather). Recycling Center is at 113 S. James Madison Street—check hours and accepted items (glass, cardboard, paper, cans/tin) on the Services page. No yard waste or hazardous items. Contact Town Hall for questions.
