Water Rates

The Town of Remington provides water service to residents and nearby customers. Bills are mailed around the 25th of each month and due upon receipt. To avoid late fees, pay by the 20th of the following month. Accounts unpaid after 45 days from the billing date may face service disconnection and a $50 reconnection fee. 

• In-Town Customers: $29.96 per month for the first 4,000 gallons; $3.50 per 1,000 gallons thereafter. 

• Out-of-Town Customers: $46.01 per month for the first 4,000 gallons; $3.75 per 1,000 gallons thereafter. 

You can sign up for email alerts about potential disconnections (courtesy notices sent 2 business days prior), though not receiving one doesn't excuse late payment. Payments accepted: cash, check, or online (see Payment Services under the Town Hall section for the link). Not receiving a bill doesn't waive your responsibility to pay on time. 

Trash Pickup

Trash service is included in the water bill for in-town water customers. Pickup happens every Friday, except for holidays or bad weather. 

• If pickup is missed on Friday, collection moves to the next business day—we'll do our best to let residents know ahead of time. 

• Place trash in bags inside cans (no loose bags). 

• Set cans out no more than 24 hours before pickup to follow town code. 
  

Recycling

The Remington Recycling Center is located at 113 S. James Madison Street (east side of the street, past the car wash and next to Andes Grocery). It's gated with an attendant on duty. No commercial haulers allowed. 

Items Not Collected

 We do not pick up hazardous or special waste, including: PCBs, refrigerant-containing items, bloodborne pathogen waste, radioactive materials, asbestos, pesticides, biomedical waste, septage, explosives, compressed gas cylinders, flammable liquids/solids, poisons, corrosives, ashes/incinerator residues, tires, televisions, microwaves, UPS backup systems, fax machines, copiers, paint, household cleaners, photographic chemicals, battery acid, garden chemicals, insect sprays, gasoline, driveway sealer, rodent products, lacquers, ant bait, mineral spirits. 

No yard waste is collected.

• Saturday: 7:00 am–3:00 pm 

• Sunday: 10:00 am–3:00 pm
